Anamaria Marinca, born in Romania, is an actress. She won the British Academy Television Award Best Actress for her Channel 4 film Sex Traffic. Speaks French, German, English and Romanian proficiently. Her father, a professor of theater at one of Romania's most prestigious theatre schools, is theater teacher. She won the Best Female Actor Award for the Year 2000 in The Mangalia Young Actor Gala. In 2008 The European Film Promotion Board recognized her as a European Shooting Star. Alongside her impressive performance in her debut movie, the actress will remember her performance of her role in the Romanian movie "4 months, 3 weeks and 2 days" that won her numerous awards including the European Film Award of Best Actress from the London Film Critics. The actress was in Cristian Mugiu's Romanian film "4 three weeks and 2 days" (4 months, three weeks And Two Days) which earned her the Palme d'Or award at Cannes Film Festival 2007. The film also earned two additional awards: it was awarded the Cinema Prize of French National Education System (FIPRESCI Prize) as well as the Cinema Prize. Additionally, she was a part in the film of Francis Ford Coppola Youth Without Youth. In 2008, Marinca played Yasim in BBC's five episode The Last Enemy. Marinca has appeared in the Romanian drama Boogie as well as Oliver Hirschbiegels Five Minutes of Heaven. She appeared as Irma in Fury 2014, in which she played an German known aunt for Emma.
